Ardo Natal Perimassage is a natural perineum massage fluid that reduces the risk of perineal tears and episiotomies when used regularly from the 34th week of pregnancy onwards. Its highly effective nourishing combination of valuable oils promotes elasticity and loosens the tissue to support a natural and gentle vaginal birth.
The combination of nourishing almond and wheat germ oil, together with perineal massage to improve circulation, penetrates the tissue deeply, increases its elasticity, and makes it softer and more resilient. Regular application reduces the risk of a perineal tear or episiotomy and reduces pain.
How to massage your perineum:
Perineal massage should be started in the 34th week of pregnancy.
Carry out the perineal massage at least three to four times a week for 10 to 15 minutes each time.
Wash your hands thoroughly before applying the fluid, then place enough of the fluid on your fingers and start massaging the perineal area.
Start with circular and stretching movements.

What is a perineum?
The perineum is the area of tissue between the opening of the vagina and the anus.
It attaches to the muscles that support your reproductive organs, bowels, and
bladder — the pelvic floor.
What can
happen to the perineum during vaginal birth?
During
birth, the area between the vagina and anus (the perineum) needs to stretch a
lot and it might tear or need an episiotomy (surgical cut). Women who are giving
vaginal birth for the first time are more likely to suffer from perineal tears.
According to studies, more than 85% of women who have a vaginal birth have some
kind of tear or episiotomy. An episiotomy is a non-routine surgical cut to the
vaginal opening, which helps speed up delivery during difficult labour or
helps to avoid tears.
Many women
experience pain, discomfort and sexual difficulties for up to three months
after a perineal tear or episiotomy.
What is
perineal massage?
Perineal
massage is the act of stretching and manipulating the perineal tissue using one
or two fingers. Its goal is to prepare these tissues to stretch over your
baby’s head and body during vaginal delivery. You can perform this massage at
home by yourself or with the help of your partner.
Why should I
do a perineal massage?
The natural
perineum massage fluid promotes elasticity of the perineal tissue and is the
ideal preparation for expectant mothers for a vaginal birth. Regular
perineal massage with Ardo Natal Perimassage from the 34th week of pregnancy
onwards reduces the risk of a perineal tears, episiotomies and pain during and
after childbirth
Ardo Natal Perimassage contains a combination of nourishing almond
and wheat germ oil. The almond oil penetrates deep into the tissue and cares
for it while the wheat germ oil is rich in vitamin E and increases the elasticity
of the tissue making it softer and more resilient.
When should I do it?
We recommend you massage your perineum during or after a
bath or shower because the blood vessels in the area are dilated. This makes
the perineum softer and more comfortable to touch.
When should
you NOT do perineal massage?
Please do not use Ardo Natal Perimassage or any other perineum massage fluid if you think you may have thrush or any other vaginal infection and avoid it if your waters may have broken. Moreover, if you have any stitches or tears following the birth, wait until they have healed before beginning the massage. Please note that every pregnancy and mother and baby are different.
